Our loading arms are made according to safety criteria and characterized by low maintenance.
The structure is of the tubular type and consists mainly of three parts: one fixed, connected to the jetty, and two mobile parts, joined together by means of rotating joints, necessary to allow the pipe to follow the inevitable movements of the connected ship, due to the tides, the wind, currents and load variations.
A system (triple terminal joint) is installed at the end of the tubular structure for connecting the arm to the ship’s flange consisting of three rotating joints and mechanisms dedicated to connection and disconnection procedures.
The rotating joints, in total number of six, create a system in space with six degrees of freedom and therefore ensure a connection between the ship and the pier that does not introduce stress due to the relative movements between them.
The loading arm is thus able to follow all the movements of the manifold connecting to the ship, ensuring correct operation in the event of lateral and longitudinal drift, vertical movement as well as pitch, roll and yaw of the ship itself.
The arms are generally electro-hydraulically controlled and equipped with a special system consisting of:
an electrical system;
a hydraulic system.
Our arms are basically divided into 3 main classes according to the temperature:
Our range of arms includes:
– Arms for ‘hot’ products
– Arms for refrigerated products – Arms for cryogenic products
Product range of top loading arms are specifically designed for refined fuels such as gasoline, Lube Oil, diesel, kerosene, naphtha and ethanol. Whether for top loading or unloading of tank trucks or rail cars there is top loading arm to suit the particular application.
All top loading arms are a modular design with TTMA flanged connections of all the major components. Inlet flange connection is ANSI #150
Range of bottom loading/unloading arms for petroleum products are specifically designed for refined products such as gasoline, diesel, kerosene, ethanol, and lube oils etc.
Our range of bottom loading/unloading arms for petroleum products are specifically designed for All arms are of modular design with TTMA flanged connections of all the major components, thus allowing simpler arm configurations and superior maintenance capabilities. Inlet flange connection is ANSI #150
Our range of Top and Bottom loading/unloading arms is specifically engineered to handle the unique nature of liquid compressed gasses and vapors transported in tank trucks or railcars, or trans-loaded between the two.
Up to #300 rated with minimal flanged connections in carbon steel and stainless steel to handle refined products such as LPG, Propane, Butane, Isobutene, Anhydrous Ammonia, LNG as well as course unrefined NGL’s.
Typical size is 2” but larger 3” and 4” are available for specialist applications. For longer reach applications a 3” arm is usually better suited for structural strength with a 2” connection point to the tank truck or railcar.
The variety of loading and unloading challenges are greatest in the chemical and industrial products industry. Our range of Top and Bottom Loading/Unloading arms is specifically engineered to handle the exact nature of each chemical or industrial liquid or vapor being handled in and out of tank trucks, rail cars and ISO container tanks. Whether loading or unloading tar sands, acetones, molten sulfur or acids, AA and Partners has a specific solution to handle each application safely and successfully. Standard top and bottom loading arm configurations are often used for chemical and industrial products; however, all products require specialist knowledge and equipment for a safe, efficient transfer. Each chemical and industrial loading/unloading arm is specifically engineered to match the exact nature of the product being handled. These are not petroleum loading arms with different elastomers.

Eletric Heat Traced Loading/Unloading Arms
AA and Partners’ range of Jet Fuel Refuelling Arms are specifically designed for liquids in the aviation industry. Whether it is for the tank terminal where the jet fuel is received, stored or distributed to the apron or the aircraft or the helicopter need to be refuel, we have the appropriate solution available for civilian & military applications.
